Standing quietly in the historic Shinmachi-Dori street of Gojo, Yanaseya offers two privates spaces in two beautiful and elegant traditional townhouses. Relic of the Edo Era, testimony of the past, Yanaseya is a stunning place where time seems to stand still.
Recently renovated to ensure maximum comfort, the houses have nevertheless kept the charm of old-time Japan, offering visitors to travel back in time for a unique lifestyle experience.
Discover Yanaseya’s Kura House:
Kura House owes its character and charm to its large entrance door and roof framework so specific to the architecture of ancient townhouses. The lovely compact home has a generous ceiling height of 3m in the living room, which creates a pleasant open space where guests can relax in peace and quiet.
The 1st floor features a cosy living room and a kitchen, whereas the 2nd floor features a comfortable bedroom, a bathroom and a toilet.
Equipment and amenities:
・Floor heating (1st floor only)
・Coffee and tea
・Bottled mineral water
・Tableware and cutlery
・Yukata and toothbrushes
Guests are invited to use the kitchen appliances freely but are kindly asked to refrain from cooking meals to prevent accidents. However, there are several restaurants near the house where it is possible to enjoy a delicious meal:
